2. Skill areas:
a. Core capabilities:
The candidate should have hands-on experience in
- Managing and maintaining the Wide Area and Local Area Networks with proper capacity and scalability.
- Design / Implementation and providing support of Cisco-based Routers, Switches, Security Solutions, Wireless Solutions and Network Management across WAN/LAN
- Configuring and maintaining proactive Network Monitoring System leveraging existing tools in order to maintain and track important metrics.
- Maintaining relationship with telecommunications carriers for the existing and future network installations including service providers of Leased lines, VSAT, Internet Gateways, MPLS Links etc.
- Performing frequent Network Trending & Analysis and make recommendations and changes accordingly to maximize performance and minimize costs
- Managing IT infrastructure projects involving Networking and Network Security
- Supporting disaster recovery and BCP processes for the Network Setup.
- Supporting in management of compliance to information security controls requirements.
- Implementation of information security policies and procedures for the Network setup.
- Shall have strong troubleshooting, analytical and diagnostic skills under stressful conditions.
b. Skills Required:
- Must have a keen technical inclination to learn several technologies around Network and Network Security
- Must be very strong on basic Networking and Network security concepts
- Must have hands on experience in atleast three of the following
- Cisco Switches and Routers
- Firewalls like Checkpoint and Juniper/Netscreen.
- Network protocols BGP/EIGRP/OSPF/MPLS / VPN (IPSEC) etc
- Swtiching technologies including VLAN Management, STP/RSTP, Port-channeling, Trunking, Port SPAN, Layer-3 Switching
- Clustering technologies NSRP,HSRP, VRRP, Nokia IP clustering in Active/Active, Active/Passive
- Knowledge of network monitoring tools such as HP Openview/ Cisco works/ Whatsupgold / Nagios / Netcool will be an added advantage
