Amazon.com requires Support Engineer :Walk - in on 25th Feb'2012 Scope of work: A range of activities starting from planning and optimization algorithms, working with platform services for new feature development, workflow management, user interface design, managing tera bytes of data in real-time.
Specific job requirement:
- Troubleshoot Website issues
- Troubleshoot, debug, evaluate and resolve computer-identified alarms
- Perform software deployments and migrations, host management and automate routine operational tasks
- Read and understand code to debug and fix the software defects.
- Create test cases to validate software design via manual and automated tests
- The position requires a combination of strong troubleshooting, technical and communication skills and includes a mix of operational tasks and may involve small-project software development work.
Experience:
- A technical background (BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering or related discipline/experience)
- 9 months to 7 Yrs experience
- Strong Unix based OS experience or proven ability to pick up Linux quickly.
- Strong debugging/troubleshooting skills
- A passion towards problem-solving
- Strong understanding of support - tickets, monitoring, and metrics
- Knowledge in web server concepts - HTTP, Apache, Tomcat etc.
- Ability to do scripting - Perl/Python/Ruby
- Familiarity with programming languages Java or C++
- Ability to write complex SQL queries
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Strong decision-making ability
- Must be able to think proactively; excellent follow-through and attention to details.
- Willing to work in round the clock shift
- Strong results oriented.
- Thinks big.
- Innovative and have great problem solving and analytical skills.
